This audio-visual work is an assemblage of field recordings and videos concurrently captured during a short window on a walk through my old neighborhood of Chinatown/ Lower East Side in Manhattan. The alley is under a Manhattan Bridge overpass, the setting providing a scheduled doppler effect, as the low hum of the subway grows closer. The train’s pitch increases, and its presence is heard and now felt, only to decrescendo as it commutes along. Similar movements resulting from traffic are present throughout the work, creating the impression of naturally occurring LFOs from scene to scene.
